Ann Goldstein to Resign from Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam:

AMSTERDAM—The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam has announced that its current director Ann Goldstein, will be resigning at the end of this year, reports Artforum and The Los Angeles Times. Goldstein, who was both the general and artistic director of the institution, began her position in January of 2010. Notably, she served at the Stedelijk while the museum was closed, and developed the Temporary Stedelijk, a special interim program of exhibitions and public programs in the museum’s 1895 building. Prior to joining the museum, Goldstein served as senior curator for twenty-six years at LA MoCA. Though she’ll leave her current position in December, she will remain involved with its Mike Kelley retrospective, which travels to MoMA PS 1 this fall, and then LA MoCA in March of 2014. Said Alexander Ribbink, chairman of the supervisory board of the Stedelijk Museum, ‘Ann led the Stedelijk through an important and challenging period of its existence, enhanced its international visibility and successfully oversaw its reopening. We shall miss her profound artist-centric vision on the positioning of the museum, her passion for artists, and her defense of the museum as a living institution.’”
