As long as they get the art they need, in a professional and timely manner, there is little impact to the manufacturer. For the artist, however, using an agent or promoting your own work can have a big impact on your business and your lifestyle. The key is to know what will work best for you.

Often our beliefs are the best indicator about how to proceed. If you believe that ‘real artists never make money while they are alive’, you will probably struggle to earn an income with your art. Whether you are aware of it or not, you will find ways to self-sabotage your business because you want to be a ‘real artist’. Beliefs can also affect how well you will work with an agent or promote your work yourself.
