New Era of Non-Profits Arts

“Boldly Go, raising funds, building audiences, leveraging resources in the new era of non-profit arts.” At the Adrienne Arsht Center gathered the majority of Miami-Dade’s non-profit cultural organizations. Our speakers covered a wide range of important issues that we all face currently, and that is how to reach, develop a relationship, and nurture new and existing audiences. Taken as a whole, that is a huge undertaking.

The one thing that we know for sure is that the cultural community is energized and diverse. We all want to have success, and these sessions gave us a few more keys to reach that goal.

“Online Tools for Fundraising & constituency-Building,” Richard Mintz, “The Power of Storytelling,” Neill Archer Roan, “Attracting Dollars and Donors in South Florida,” Donna Shalala and Sergio Gonzalez, “This is Miami: A Community Conversation,” Dennis Scholl, were the main topics. Of course, there were lots of questions and comments from the audience.

What I found interesting, maybe not, were the same people spoke up during the Q&A on almost every session. That really speaks to the passion those people have. We’re looking for ways to provide benefits for our communities and grow our organizations.
