Broward Cultural Division Presents
A Social Media Art BootCamp!
BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Broward Cultural Division, MiamiArtExchange.com and ArtServe invite artists of all disciplines, gallery owners and creative entrepreneurs to a full-day workshop.
Social Media Art BootCamp for Artists will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at ArtServe Inc., 1350 East Sunrise Blvd in Fort Lauderdale. The fee for the workshop is $25.
Social Media Art BootCamp is a workshop that focuses on artists to develop new skills to improve: self-marketing; provide publication, exhibition and event information; create new conversational opportunities with customers, and looks at technology as a creative tool. Social channels have increasingly become a vital part of many successful individual’s and organization’s communication strategies. Savvy artists need to become aware, and utilize these current marketing tools because both the broadcast and print media landscape has changed so dramatically. Social media is all about creating and sharing information, and becoming part of the community and increasing one’s effectiveness in the marketplace. Social Media Art BootCamp is a user-friendly, and a user-created, workshop designed to provide a course of action for novices and seasoned users.
Offering panels and presentations, the workshop will feature the following leading figures working at the intersection of art and social media Onajide Shabaka, president of
Miamiartexchange.com; Maria de los Angeles – blogger;
Davide di Cillo, a moblie application developer and web designer;
Alex de Carvalho, social media expert;
Chris Tiedje, graphic designer, Sun Sentinel;
Patrick Barbanes, Branding Online; and Tina La Porta, artist.
