I know at least one person from Miami up at this fair. I’d love to be there myself. As nice as the Miami Bookfair International is, this fair seems even more interesting. I don’t recall seeing artist’s books in Miami this year.
Art: All the Books You’ll Never Catch on a Kindle:
“The New York Art Book Fair, which opens this weekend with thousands of smart, weird, engrossing and beautiful books, fills three floors of P.S. 1 with plenty of breathing room.
The fair, founded by A. A. Bronson, once part of the three-member group General Idea, is all about collaboration. More than 200 exhibitors — booksellers, independent publishers, artists, antiquarian dealers — fill three floors of P.S. 1’s cavernous premises with plenty of breathing room: some of the displays look like full-fledged gallery shows. The recession has scared off a few big trade publishers, but they’ve been more than adequately replaced by 60 newcomers from Japan, South Korea, Mexico and elsewhere, many of them low on cash but high on risk tolerance.”
