Information Sharing from our friends in Pompano Beach:
City Vista is different than Sailboat Bend Artists Loft, it is not a live/work space, instead, it is an affordable apartment complex but on the first floor of the venue there will be retail space, one of which will be owned and operative by the Pompano Beach CRA and will house a co-working space where the artists could conduct business. The apartments are 1- and 2-bedroom and the rent is regulated by the HUD guidelines (see below). There will also be a volunteer program built in and managed by the CRA whereby artists volunteer, gain “credits” that can be used for discounts on programs at Pompano Beach cultural venues.
Apply for the Artist-in-Residence Program
The Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) – pompanobeachcra.com – has issued a call for artists of all disciplines to submit applications for the City Vista Artist in Residence (AiR) program. City Vista is a mixed-use apartment building located in the heart of the developing downtown district and is within walking distance from three dynamic cultural venues – the historic Ali Cultural Arts Center, the historic Bailey Contemporary Arts, and the new Pompano Beach Cultural Center and Library. Artists must meet income requirements to be eligible to rent the one-and two-bedroom apartments. Artists are encouraged to submit a portfolio of their artistic work to innovate@copbfl.com. All artists who submit these documents will be notified when City Vista leasing applications are made available by Landmark Developers, LLC. Upon acceptance into City Vista, artists are invited to participate in the Artist-in-Residence program. For any questions please contact Emily Marcus, CRA Project Manager, at 954-786-7835.
