BROWARD COUNTY, FL – College-bound students interested in music, dance, theater, visual arts, graphic design, and other related disciplines are invited to learn more about undergraduate and graduate programs offered at the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s (NACAC) Fort Lauderdale Performing and Visual Arts College Fair.
The event will take place Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Dillard Center for the Arts, and will feature a cast of local panelists from Broward’s media and arts industries.
The fair – free and open to the public – will run from 7 to 9 pm. Arrive at 6 pm to attend a pre-fair workshop.
Panelists on this year’s Performing & Visual Arts College Fair include:Marie Berlin, arts and museums professional, Art Institute Manager, Young At Art Museum; Ruth Burotte, emerging visual artist; Cherie Cancio, arts and cultural philanthropist; Executive Director, Hugo Cancio Foundation;Meredith Clements, journalist and arts/museums professional, Marketing Manager, Broward Cultural Division; Derek Davis, journalist, Curator, Old Dillard Museum; Jodi Jeffreys-Tanner, arts philanthropist, Vice Chair, Broward Cultural Council.
Although a growing number of students are pursuing college degrees in the arts, few resources exist for artistically-inclined students as they plan their college careers. NACAC’s Performing and Visual Arts College Fairs, offered in 22 locations throughout the country, fill that gap by providing attendees a chance to learn about educational opportunities tailored to their needs.Students have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with admission
representatives from colleges, universities, conservatories, studios, festivals, and other educational institutions with specialized programs in the arts.
