Public Relations Manager
Miami City Ballet
Reports to: Bill Miller, Director of Marketing and Communications
Responsibilities:
1. Media Relations
1. Serve as the day-to-day media contact for the Company and School in the tri-counties and for MCB’s touring and other remote-market activities
2. Help direct and coordinate the activities of MCB’s PR agency, Kreps/DeMaria in Miami and Deirdre Sykes Shapiro in Palm Beach
3. Coordinate and host press involvement at performances and functions; furnish interview confirmation memos
4. Writing News Releases/media alerts for all performances and events promoting MCB and the School; increase ticket sales
5. Coordinate MCB’s social PR program, fostering media coverage for key Board members, donors and social events
6. Develop story suggestions and photo ops to encourage media coverage
7. Secure calendar listings and update them as needed
8. Maintain up-to-date segmented media lists
9. Prepare and update Press Kits as needed
10. Maintain Company FTP site with current images
2. Publications
1. Oversee design and production of Playbill copy: show copy, dancer/staff bios & photos, development dept. pages, etc.
2. Supervise production of Playbill Casting Sheet inserts with Marketing Asst.
3. Coordinate/produce editorials/photos for E-Bravo Newsletters. Participate in development of other e–newsletters with Marketing Manager and Asst.
4. Be an active member of MCB’s internal Social Networking team
3. Touring
1. Provide tour presenters and their PR staff with press kits, publicity materials and information to promote MCB; furnish and proof tour Playbill
2. Provide up-to-date promotional materials to MCB Booking Agent
3. Accompany the Company on select tours to coordinate media involvement and maximize coverage
4. Photo/Video
1. In collaboration with Artistic staff, arrange/supervise photo/video shoots
2. Maintain an inventory of images and videos, both current and historical
5. Tracking Results
1. Maintain clip files of media coverage furnished by PR Agency. Issue periodic results reports when needed.
2. Track and distribute daily press breaks with Google alerts, etc.
6. Relationships
1. Assist all MCB departments in meeting their objectives
2. Interface with other arts and civic organizations; represent the Company at select meetings and events
