BORSCHT CORP. ANNOUNCES CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR 8TH BORSCHT FILM FESTIVAL

Miami, Florida – The Borscht Film Festival launched its new website today (www.borschtcorp.com) with a call for entries to Miami filmmakers. Borscht Corp. seeks submissions from emerging directors, screenwriters, and producers for the eighth edition of The Borscht Film Festival, which will take place in late 2012.

The Borscht Film Festival accepts submissions of work at all stages, treatment to final cut. The only stipulation is that the work come from emerging filmmakers born, raised, inspired by, or living in South Florida. Any form, any genre, any subject matter is welcome—as long as it deals with South Florida in some way.

Borscht encourages producers, directors, writers, or even those with only an idea for a film to reach out to them.

Borscht partners with emerging filmmakers to support their work in a variety of ways:

Commissioned Films: Deadline May 1st, 2012

Projects submitted to Borscht in their initial stages are eligible for selection as a work commissioned from the filmmaker. Borscht provides funding, guidance, and professional support (if necessary), throughout the filmmaking process, as well as a platform for exposure after the film is completed.

To submit your project for consideration as a Commission, fill out the entry form via www.borschtcorp.com  no later than May 1st, 2012.

Finishing Funds: Deadline July 1st, 2012

In rare instances, Borscht provides finishing funds to films and filmmakers that fit our criteria.

Completed Films: Deadline October 1st, 2012

Films submitted upon or near completion are eligible to screen at an official Borscht presentation or event. Borscht continues to expand its programming each year and we are excited to offer more screening opportunities during our 2012 season.
